The familiar hoot of the Tawny Owl is one of the best known of all bird songs. Its silent flight allows the Tawny Owl to pounce from a perch, in pursuit of its unsuspecting prey. The bird’s extraordinary sensitive eyes and ears enable it to locate its prey in very dim light. This owl makes its home in woodland and areas with scattered mature timber such as farmland, parklands and large gardens. The bird’s large size with it’s dark face and eyes are the tawny owl’s main points of identification. The Tawny Owl looks especially good on narrower blinds with added pencil background illustrations, and is equally worthy of sharing a wider blind with other Countryman designs. |
